Find Your Stride!
Through partnership with horses, we discover strength we didn’t know we had, building confidence, trust, and resilience that carries far beyond the arena.
Groundwork & Horsemanship
Unmounted Horsemanship is where true horsemanship begins. Before a rider ever sits in the saddle, they learn to direct energy, communicate without words, and build trust through presence and intention. From the ground, participants develop the ability to connect, balance, lead, and join-up—gaining insight into horse behavior while cultivating patience, emotional awareness, and confident leadership. This hands-on experience lays the foundation not only for safe riding, but for meaningful partnership.

Riding & Skill Development
Riding is a natural extension of the horsemanship foundation built on the ground—where communication, trust, and awareness come to life in the saddle. Drawing from primarily English disciplines, including equitation, hunter-jumper, and dressage, participants refine balance, posture, and effective communication with their horse while developing control, confidence, and partnership. Riders are encouraged to define and pursue individual goals—whether recreational, therapeutic, competitive, or a blend of all three—recognizing that working with horses is inherently holistic in its benefits. At RTW, each rider’s journey is guided with intention, helping translate skills in the saddle into growth beyond it.

Adaptive Riding is a structured, goal-oriented program for individuals with disabilities who are medically approved for equine activities. Participants of all ages develop physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills in a safe, supportive environment. Guided by certified instructors and trained volunteers, riders engage in tailored lessons that include mounting, steering, and rhythmical movement with the horse, balance, coordination, strength, confidence, and emotional regulation. This program combines the joy of horseback riding with measurable developmental benefits, providing an empowering and enriching experience for children, teens, and adults.
Adaptive & Therapeutic Riding

The Ultimate Classroom
The barn, arena, and trails serve as a dynamic outdoor classroom for Ride the Wind’s horsemanship programs. Instruction is grounded in developing authentic partnership between horse and rider, with an emphasis on connection, communication, and collaboration.
Participants build foundational and advanced riding skills while gaining a deeper understanding of horse behavior and care. Through this process, they develop confidence, balance, focus, and problem-solving abilities—experiencing both the discipline of equestrian sport and the broader benefits of the horse–human connection.
